Lesley Syme is an artist whose practice centres on printmaking and alternative photography. Dividing her time between London and Correze, France, her work is inspired by the environment around her, finding beauty in simple botanical structures and forms which she translates into unique one-off monotype prints and photograms. What draws her to these processes is the amazing detail that can be achieved working directly with the plants themselves. For Lesley the practice relates to nature printing and early photographic processes for documenting plants.

Syme graduated from Camberwell College of Art, London, in 2001 and subsequently worked in the broadcast sector before finding printmaking and garden design during Covid lockdown. She has recently exhibited at Bainbridge Open, Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair and Festival of Print.
